i’m still drawing! sometimes! just not being good at posting it! i made this comic a few months ago thinking about the nature of positive reassurance when someone’s going through it, and how/when it can be helpful. what do you say to someone who’s still so deep in the tunnel they can’t even imagine the light at the end? i know when i was going through shit i didn’t wanna hear about some stupid fucking light because to me it just could not possibly exist. but it does. the tunnel is just stupid long. and it sucks! (i’m fine now ftr.)

Photo ID: 8 images drawn in black and white. The ground is white, and the sky is black with white stars. Image 1: A person sits on a skateboard looking sad, with a teardrop on their face. A speech bubble coming from above the image says, "Hey."

Image 2: The person looks up to see a large star looking at them and smiling. The star says, "It's all gonna be okay." The person replies, "How do you know?"

Image 3: The star continues speaking, "Dude, I am so ('so' is spelled with 7 o's) old. I am old as balls. I've seen a lot ('lot has 3 t's) of shit. And I've seen a lot of people get through the shit. You will, too."

Image 4: The person has their arms up in frustration. They say, "I don't have the perspective of an old as balls star, though. This is all new to me! I feel like shit. I feel like the world is ending. And don't tell me everybody feels like this either. I know that, and it doesn't help."

Image 5: The star looks solemn and says, "Hey, I didn't say it wouldn't ('wouldn't' is in bold) suck. It sucks like hell, and that's part of it. With time, it will suck less. I promise." The person's speech bubble comes from below the star. They say, "What if it doesn't stop sucking?"

Image 6: The star says, "Take matters into your own hands! Maybe seek help! I'm a ball of gas, not a medical professional. I can only tell you that time tends to make things softer. Even pain."

Image 7: The person stands up from the skateboard and says, "I don't know if that makes me feel better, but thanks anyway."

Image 8: The star is smiling again and says, "You don't have to feel better right now. But you will. Trust me. I'm an old-ass star." The person steps onto their skateboard and replies, "ok, I guess."
